I was asked by a colleague for a book list, so I decided to post it here and review for all the ones I’ve most enjoyed on Kindle and Audible.
So here they are some choices from the oldest read to the most recent. These are mostly all business books, non fiction and directed at sales, marketing, consulting and of course some innovation and they have to also have been interesting to read!
Guy Kawasaki – Enchantment – The goal is not merely to get what you want but to bring about a voluntary, enduring, and delightful change in other people. By enlisting their own goals and desires, by being likable and trustworthy, and by framing a cause that others can embrace, you can change hearts, minds, and actions.
Charles Duhigg – The power of Habit – In The Power of Habit, award-winning New York Times business reporter Charles Duhigg takes us to the thrilling edge of scientific discoveries that explain why habits exist and how they can be changed. With penetrating intelligence and an ability to distill vast amounts of information into engrossing narratives, Duhigg brings to life a whole new understanding of human nature and its potential for transformation.
Barbarians at the Gate – A #1 New York Times bestseller and arguably the best business narrative ever written, Barbarians at the Gate is the classic account of the fall of RJR Nabisco. An enduring masterpiece of investigative journalism by Bryan Burrough and John Helyar … And in an era of spectacular business crashes and federal bailouts, it still stands as a valuable cautionary tale that must be heeded.
Dale Carnegie – How to Win Friends and Influence People – Interpersonal relationships are as important as ever in today’s business world, but it can be difficult to balance strong leadership and like-ability. More than a book, now a life course that is changing lives, well worth a read if you have not yet!
Eric Ries – The Lean Start Up – Now more than a book, a movement and an approach to transforming projects large and small, its a must read.
Be more innovative.
Stop wasting people’s time.
Be more successful.

Zero to one – Peter Thiel – Zero to One presents at once an optimistic view of the future of progress in America and a new way of thinking about innovation: it starts by learning to ask the questions that lead you to find value in unexpected places.
Elon Musk – Tesla, Space X an the Quest for a Fantastic Future – “The book also had a lot of subtle tidbits and behind-the-scenes details from Musk’s life, apart from his ventures. From a man who’s disrupted not one but several industries at a time, who has not only laid down his blueprint for all of mankind, but has also led people firmly down that path, there’s a lot to learn.”
The Challenger Sale – What’s the secret to sales success? If you’re like most business leaders, you’d say it’s fundamentally about relationships-and you’d be wrong. The best salespeople don’t just build relationships with customers. They challenge them.
Measure what Matters – John Doerr – NO SINGLE FACTOR HAS MORE IMPACT ON EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT THAN “CLEARLY DEFINED GOALS THAT ARE WRITTEN DOWN AND SHARED FREELY.” – Only read if you want to know how Google lead and set goals…
AUDIBLE : Below I have listened to on Audible, but most are also on Amazon as linked.
Building a StoryBrand – Donald Miller – New York Times best-selling author Donald Miller uses the seven universal elements of powerful stories to teach listeners how to dramatically improve how they connect with customers and grow their businesses.
The e-myth Seminar – Michael Gerber – Gerber’s refined techniques for entrepreneurs enumerate how to successfully build a business that will soar in both booming and sagging economic markets, learn to focus on the results, not the work, and to see your business as your product. You’ll also hear Gerber’s 7 Steps of Business Development:
The High Growth Handbook – Elad Gill – Well-known technology executive and angel investor Elad Gil has worked with high growth tech companies like Airbnb, Twitter, Google, Instacart, Coinbase, Stripe, and Square as they’ve grown from small companies into global brands. Across all of these break-out companies, a set of common patterns has evolved into a repeatable playbook that Gil has codified in High Growth Handbook.
Million Dollar Consulting Allan Weiss – This consulting classic and best-seller is now in its amazing 25th year with a brand new fifth edition that is 80% new written by Alan in 2016. Link above is to my review on this site. Highly Recommended!
LoonShots – Safi Bahcall – Some really fascinating stories in here – A full review from me here
In Loonshots, physicist and entrepreneur Safi Bahcall reveals a surprising new way of thinking about the mysteries of group behavior that challenges everything we thought we knew about nurturing radical breakthroughs.
